Metal?Organic Frameworks: Why Make Them Small?
نویسندگان
چکیده
Recent studies have demonstrated that metal?organic frameworks (MOFs) can be miniaturized down to the submicroscale and even nanoscale create small MOFs. Herein, basic concepts recent progresses concerning core question of “MOFs, why make them small?” are briefly introduced from three perspectives: those size, shape, processability. Small sizes endow MOFs with large outer surface area/volume ratios, leading important differences in their characteristics (e.g., energy, number defects, etc.) relative bulk scale counterparts thus, opening door size-dependent properties such as flexibility or catalytic performance. Downsizing also enables shaping into unusual shapes. Among most appealing morphologies 2D nanosheets, whose structure favor certain porosity-related applications. The controlled miniaturization MOF particles favors integration onto surfaces devices well colloidal stability, which turn translates ability use readily processable MOF-based liquids countless processes, drive assembly sophisticated meso- macroscopic architectures, gels, monoliths, porous liquids. It is believed ongoing research shrink via nanotechnology, has been done other classes materials, will continue yield novel MOF-related materials exhibit unprecedented structural functional properties.

Microsporidia are strict obligate intracellular parasites that infect a wide range of eukaryotes including humans and economically important fish and insects. Surviving and flourishing inside another eukaryotic cell is a very specialised lifestyle that requires evolutionary innovation. Genome sequence analyses show that microsporidia have lost most of the genes needed for making primary metabol...
متن کاملRecent advances in carbon dioxide capture with metalorganic frameworks
Uncontrolled massive release of the primary greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) into atmosphere from anthropogenic activities poses a big threat and adversely affects our global climate and natural environment. One promising approach to mitigate CO2 emission is carbon capture and storage (CCS), in which ideal adsorbent materials with high storage capacity and excellent adsorption selectivity ov...

Expert latent f ingerprint examiners were presented with fingerprints taken from real criminal cases. Half of the prints had been previously judged as individualizations and the other half as exclusions. We re-presented the same prints to the same experts who had judged them previously, but provided biasing contextual information in both the individualizations and exclusions. A control set of i...
